Eric Ravilious: Drawn to War (Screening+ Film Maker Q&A)

  • The Landmark Centre 129 High Street CT14 6BB United Kingdom (map)

ERIC RAVILIOUS – DRAWN TO WAR uncovers the true story of one of Britain’s greatest and most overlooked landscape artists. Eric Ravilious was killed in a plane crash in Iceland in 1942 whilst on commission as an Official War Artist. His life is as compelling as his art.

This first full length feature documentary about Ravilious vividly brings this enigmatic painter to life through previously unseen private correspondence (featuring the voices of Freddie Fox, Tamsin Greig, Jeremy Irons and Harriet Walter) and interviews with Ravilious fans including Ai Weiwei, Alan Bennett, Grayson Perry and Robert Macfarlane.

We are delighted that this special Deal Film Festival screening will be followed by a live on-stage Q&A with director Margy Kinmonth.
